Enabling "JAVA"
If Java is already installed
but applets
do not work,
you may need to enable Java through
your
web browser.

Java though your Web browser

FOR WINDOWS | For MACINTOSH |
Internet Explorer 4
Click on the View menu, then
click Internet
Options.
The Internet Options window will
popup. Click
on the Security tab.
To ENABLE Java, make sure the
security setting
is set to "Medium (more
secure)".
To DISABLE JavaScript, set the
security setting
to "Custom" and then
click the
"Settings" button.
The Security
Settings window will pop up.
Scroll down
for the heading Java. There will
be an option
under the Java heading, "Java
Permissions".
Set "Java Permissions"
to "Disable
Java".
Click OK to close and save the
changes to
Security Settings.
Click OK to close Internet Options.
Close and restart the browser,
then please
try again!
Internet Explorer 5
Click on the Tools menu, then
click Internet
Options.
The Internet Options menu will
popup. Click
on the Security tab.
To ENABLE Java: make sure the
security setting
is set to "Medium".
If the display
reads "Custom Settings",
click
the "Default Level"
button near
the bottom right to reset the
security settings
to Medium.
To DISABLE Java: Click the "Custom
Level"
button. The "Security Settings"
window will be displayed. Scroll
down for
the heading "Microsoft VM".
Set
the option "Java Permissions"
to
"Disable Java".
Click OK to save the settings
to and close
Security Settings.
Click OK to close Internet Options.
Close and restart the browser,
then please
try again!

From the AOL Login screen, click

AOL menu, then click Preferences.

The "AOL Internet Properties"
window
will open. Click on the Security
tab.
To ENABLE Java, make sure that
the "Medium
(more secure)" security
setting is selected.
To DISABLE Java, set security
setting to
"Custom" and then click
the "Settings"
button. The Security Settings
window will
pop up. Scroll down for the heading
"Java".
Under Java is the option "Java
Permissions".
Set Java Permissions to "Disable
Java".
Click OK to close and save the
changes to
Security Settings.
Click OK to close and save changes
to AOL
Internet Properties.
Close Preferences.
Login to AOL and please try our
site again!
AOL 5
From the AOL Login screen, click
on the My
AOL menu, then click Preferences.
In the Preferences window, click
on the "WWW"
button.
The "AOL Internet Properties"
window
will open. Click on the Security
tab.
The lower half of this window
is titled "Security
level for this zone".
To ENABLE Java: If there is a
slide-rule
selector for the security setting,
make sure
it is set to "Medium".
If there
is no slide-rule selector and
the setting
says "Custom Level",
click the
"Default Level" button
near the
bottom right of the window to
reset the security
settings to Medium.
To DISABLE Java, set the security
setting
to "Custom" and then
click the
"Custom Level..." button.
The Security
Settings window will popup. Scroll
down for
the heading Java. There is the
option "Java
Permissions" under Java.
Set "Java
Permissions" to "Disable
Java".
Click OK to close and save the
changes to
Security Settings.
Click OK to close and save changes
to AOL
Internet Properties.
Close Preferences.
Login to AOL and please try our
site again!
AOL 6
From the AOL Login screen, click
on the Settings
menu, then click Preferences.
In the Preferences window, under
the Organization
column on the right side, click
on "Internet
Properties (WWW)".
The "AOL Internet Properties"
window
will open. Click on the Security
tab. The
lower half of this window is
titled "Security

To ENABLE Java: If there is a

From the menu bar, choose Edit
--> Preferences
Select the Advanced category
Check the box labeled "Enable
Java"
Click OK to save your preference.
Firefox 0.8 and Up
Start Mozilla Firefox browser
or restart
it if it is already running.
Select Tools > Options.
Dialog box: Options
Click Web Features > Select Enable Java
MACINTOSH
Internet Explorer 4 & 5
Click on the Edit menu, then click Preferences.
The "Internet Explorer Preferences"
window will be displayed. Under
the heading
"Web Browsers" on the

Click OK to close and save the changes to
the custom settings.
Click OK to close Internet Settings and save
the changes.
Close Preferences.
Login to AOL and please try our site again!
